This initiative was structured differently — to align renewable energy development with local food system support and long-term land stewardship.

Responsible Land Partnership
Each potential site is evaluated individually, with careful consideration given to:
- Agricultural compatibility
- Soil health and long-term land value
- Drainage, access, and surrounding infrastructure
- Clear expectations and defined structure
This is intended as a diversification opportunity — not a replacement for long-term stewardship.
What We're Currently Evaluating
Because community-scale solar projects must meet interconnection and site requirements, not every parcel is a fit. We are currently prioritizing properties that include:
- Approximately 10–20 contiguous acres (multiple parcels may qualify)
- Primarily agricultural zoning
- Flat to gently sloped, well-drained land
- Proximity to existing utility distribution lines
- Road-accessible for construction and maintenance

Boone • DeKalb • Grundy • Kane • Kendall • LaSalle • McHenry • Ogle • Winnebago • Will
