Martin Collins

Mr. Collins is responsible for initiating investment opportunities, coordinating and performing due diligence, providing operational and commercial support for debt financings, and providing operational and engineering support to the firm’s portfolio companies.  Mr. Collins also serves on the board of directors of Dongara Pellet Plant, L.P. 

Mr. Collins has significant experience in industrial energy operations as well as energy related acquisition and development, working in these fields since 1990. Prior to joining Lakeside Energy in 2007, Mr. Collins was Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions for Primary Energy where he provided technical, operational, commercial, and strategic support to the company’s M&A, financing , and operating activities. Mr. Collins joined Private Power, the predecessor to Primary Energy in January 2001, and subsequently worked on various acquisition and development opportunities and their associated financings.  This included assisting with the purchase of Primary Energy from NiSource and the purchase of a six asset CHP portfolio from Reservoir Capital, as well as the sale of five of the assets into the Canadian public market. Mr. Collins joined LTV Steel Corporation in 1990, where he served in various operations management and technical support positions in the utility and chemical plant operations.

Mr. Collins received an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Engineering, Mechanical, from Marquette University.
