Dongara Pellet Plant,LP

Dongara Pellet Plant, LP (Dongara) uses a proprietary technology to transform municipal solid waste (MSW) into a renewable fuel that has similar energy content to coal yet has the emissions profile of a much cleaner fuel. Lakeside has co-invested in the company with Borealis Infrastructure, the infrastructure investment arm of Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS), a leading Canadian pension fund with over $43 billion in net investment assets.
Dongara’s first plant is in a northern suburb of Toronto, Ontario. The 200,000 ton/year facility processes MSW delivered by the Region of York under a 20 year contract, significantly reducing the continued reliance on limited landfill capacity in the province. The renewable fuel produced by the plant is sold to green houses, energy companies, power plants and other energy users looking for a sustainable, clean, alternative to fossil fuels.
Dongara plans to deploy the technology throughout North America in partnership cities and municipalities looking for innovative solutions for managing their MSW.
